FVI will promote the efficient use of energy in their shopping centers
Fondo de Valores Inmobiliarios (FVI), leading company in the Venezuelan capital market that invests, promotes and manages real estate, as an organization socially responsible and listed on the Venezuelan Chamber of Shopping Malls, Shop-Keepers and Others, just started a campaign to raise awareness on the efficient use of energy.
With the slogan “I’m aware, I save energy”, Fondo de Valores Inmobiliarios joins this national initiative from the State Power Corporation of Venezuela and the Ministry of People’s Power for the Electrical Energy to promote the efficient use of electricity in the shopping malls run by FVI: Centro San Ignacio, Tolón Fashion Mall, Paseo El Hatillo La Lagunita, and Llano Mall Ciudad Comercial.
Spreading the values linked to the importance of energy efficiency at work and at home among the shop-keepers and those visiting the shopping malls, will be reinforced with the elaboration of brochures and bulletin boards, the distribution of POS material and the organization of informative talks
The actions by Fondo de Valores Inmobiliarios for promoting environmental awareness were taken because, as an organization, we have always worried about the preservation of the environment and its resources thanks to the efficient use of electricity.
In this sense, Centro San Ignacio has been pioneer by turning itself in a space of high ecological contribution with terraces and outdoor areas that help decrease the consumption of artificial light and air conditioning.
In 2009, Centro San Ignacio implemented the ECO CSI Campaign to promote the efficient use of energy, and in 2010 it was awarded by the State Power Corporation of Venezuela for reducing their energy consumption by 25%.
Centro San Ignacio also created a campaign to change the incandescent light bulbs for fluorescent light bulbs that helped reduce the energy consumption by 80%. Additionally, they established suitable schedules for the operation of elevators and escalators.
The efficient use of energy has been considered by Fondo de Valores Inmobiliarios as an essential requirement to achieve balance between the human development and the natural resources of the planet, which needs our help more than never.
The shopping centers have become the most typical meeting places in the big urban areas, making them the ideal space to start promoting this important cultural change that calls for environmental awareness.
